Fast.ai requires write access to input, however I cannot even create a dir from the Jupyterlab UI. Please advise how I get permissions
You can copy the dataset into a data directory in the persistent folder (/floyd/home), then use this new path (/floyd/home/data) in your code.
Note: This is suboptimal (because it breaks one of the well established best practice that we are enforcing), but it will unblock you.
Hope that helps.
OK accomplished from the terminal with cp -a /floyd/input/. /floyd/home/dataHopefully in time this won't be necessary, but I agree this more on the fast.ai side
cp -a /floyd/input/. /floyd/home/data
I created an issue on fast.ai https://github.com/fastai/fastai/issues/1525
Solved:You can pass an argument called model_path to your Learner (and in create_cnn in particular) to indicate where you want your models saved. If you pass a Path object pointing to the exact directory you want to use, it will replace the default of learn.path/'models'.I think that solves your problem.
